The Standard in Tutoring
TRADITIONAL TUTORING
The fundamental tutoring service that DOVITU offers stems from a personalised approach. A trained and experienced tutor will work with you one-on-one to build your holistic understanding of a subject. Over time, students will begin to appreciate the value of subjects, as the content simplifies.
Understanding that every student is unique, we adapt effortlessly to the wide spectrum of teaching methods, and employ the right tools for the job. If a student is committed to applying the tools our private tutors make available for them, the results will always mirror the effort.
Our tutors commonly work for a minimum of two consecutive hours, to ensure maximum productivity and absorption of material. During this time tutors will cover the theoretical material, solve practice questions with the student, and assist on homework taks. Every lesson is supplemented with a progress report.
EXAM PREPARATION
Taking place over the course of three days, we will prepare you for exam success. During the exam preparation course, we cover the entire syllabus with students in a fluid and straightforward manner. It is required that students already have a strong and well founded grasp of the subject manner, as this course is intended to refine and perfect a student's understsanding of a topic, not build it from scratch.
If you believe you have what it takes to commit yourself to this course, then our tutors will gladly raise your understanding to new heights! Lessons start at 9am and run through to 6pm on all days. During this time tutors will be looking for knowledge gaps in students' understanding to supplement their grasp of the topic. The lessons commonly take place at a student's house to streamline the process and keep them in a familiar environment.
SUMMER
CRASH COURSE
Our summer crash course programme is designed to efficiently guide students through subject material when there is no outside pressure in the form of academic deadlines or tests.
This course is directed at students in between middle school years, or students in between year 1 and 2 of the IB Diploma. The duration and spread of this course is bespoke to each student, to cater to the existing understanding of a topic, and learning abilities of the student. Typically however, we recommend a week long course that runs from 9am to 5pm each day. During these hours a private tutor will work closely with the student to cover all past material of the subject, and set them up for a fruitful academic year once the holidays have passed. In such manner they will have a strong foundation to work up from, and will feel confident approaching new material.
IB & IGCSE
FUNDAMENTALS
To fare prosperously throughout the IGCSE or IB Programme, students are required to have a solid and unwavering understanding of fundamental concepts. Lacking a strong foundation will likely provoke ripple effects in the academic years ahead in the form of recurring trouble understanding new material that is based upon foundational topics. A private tutor is here to help you circumvent these issues, by preparing you for the IGCSE or IB.
Taking place during any extended vacation, our tutors will help you sculpt a strong and sturdy foundation to approach the challenges ahead. We ensure that your understanding of the basics is solid, and give you an introduction into IGCSE or IB material so you know what to expect for the classes ahead.
